About Us
My name is Susan Lindsey, and I’m the proud mother and grandmother of three amazing autistic boys. Everything I do starts with them. Raising children with special needs has taught me the importance of programs that offer more than academics—they must also provide emotional, social, and practical support.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership with an emphasis in Youth Development, from Arizona State University and have over 20 years of experience serving children and families. In 2000, I founded Choir House Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit that began with outreach to the homeless in Phoenix. After relocating to Maricopa, I saw a new need—supportive, inclusive spaces for children with disabilities and learning differences.
That need inspired Camp Mirth, a summer youth program built from the heart. Camp Mirth welcomes youth starting at age 5 and extends eligibility to students who are still enrolled in high school. We recognize that some autistic individuals may be over the age of the age of 16 but still thrive in child-centered environments. Our program is built with them in mind.
We are a small nonprofit currently reorganizing and planting new roots in Maricopa, AZ, with a mission to provide enriching opportunities for youth—especially those who need it most. The Camp Mirth Summer Youth Program is designed to create meaningful and engaging experiences for all children, with a special focus on ESS students, children with disabilities, and those who benefit from additional support.
Under the guidance of Choir House Ministries, Camp Mirth is more than just a summer program—it’s a community where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and belong. Through a wide variety of activities that build confidence, spark creativity, and foster connection, we are committed to ensuring every camper feels seen, supported, and celebrated.
We’re excited to bring this vision to life in Maricopa and can’t wait to welcome your family!
